At Kingsbrook School, we offer places to young people who present with a range of behaviours that challenge. Ordinarily a mental health diagnosis will be their primary need but each case is considered on its merits and the ability to meet needs. We develop an individualised programme for each student based on their specific needs/circumstances.
Small classes for tailored teaching
Our small class sizes (maximum of four students per class) ensure our young people get the support they need to learn effectively. Each class has a minimum of one teacher and one learning support assistant, with additional 1:1 support available for pupils who require it.
The school, a single story building set within four acres of rural countryside, has two main teaching rooms plus a dedicated Food Technology room and a Design & Technology room. In addition, there are two learning zones where horticulture and animal care is taught. Students will usually be grouped according to ability.
Keeping you informed
We understand the importance of keeping parents/carers up to date with their child’s progress. We have put in place different methods to share information based on parent/carer preference. Communication can be as frequent as required and telephone contact can be made on a daily basis. In addition, every week a written report is sent to parents/carers and other professionals detailing the students achievements, challenges and summarising their learning across the curriculum that week.
