Kingsbrook School is a specialist residential mixed gender therapeutic school for students aged 11 to 18 years with complex needs. These include mental health and associated difficulties, for example, behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Some of our young people will also have developed specific needs due to a range of factors including trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder or attachment disorder.
We support up to a total of 15 young people consisting of 7 day students and 8 individuals living in residential accommodation on-site at our children’s home. We are a Norfolk-based school, situated approximately 15 miles from Norwich City. Whilst most of our students may be from Norfolk, we also accept referrals from Local Authorities throughout the United Kingdom. Residential placements can be provided on a 38 or 52 week basis.
We aim to deliver the highest level of education tailored to individual needs in a supportive, encouraging, nurturing, therapeutic, stimulating and safe environment, where every student is encouraged to achieve the best possible academic, social, emotional and vocational outcomes.
Our integrated approach involves our Therapy Team working closely with the rest of the staff group in devising strategies to address student need. Our therapeutic model is Animal Assisted Therapeutic Interventions, but in addition, we also employ the services of Speech and Language, Occupational Health, Music and Art therapists, as well as Psychology and Counselling practitioners.
