We will work in collaboration with our sister site at Sheridan School who have a well-established work experience programme. All students in Years 10 and 11 have the opportunity to take part in workplace learning if this is something they are interested in doing.
We understand the importance of tailoring placements to the individual’s interests, so the school has built strong links with a number of local businesses who will offer work experience opportunities to our pupils. Examples of previously completed work-based learning in a range of settings includes:
- A music shop
- A computer company
- Riding stables
The frequency and duration of each young person’s work experience is very flexible and designed to ensure that they are comfortable at all times. The exact nature of the placement is personalised to the individual, with some of our students preferring to complete week-long blocks and others working for half a day per week over a number of months. We continually monitor placements to ensure they are meeting the needs of both the young person and the business.
