We recognise that our success will be measured by the outcomes we achieve for the young people in our care. We aim to ensure that every young person fulfils their potential and leads an extraordinary life. Our service is child focused and intent on delivering the highest quality of standards in an environment that is stimulating, nurturing and homely.
We work closely with our young people, their parents, carers and professionals to identify the strategies, resources and learning that will help them overcome their personal challenges and thrive. We strive to design and deliver individual care plans that will support our young people to achieve their personal objectives and promote significant life opportunities.
The onsite children’s home at Kingsbrook undertook a major refurbishment programme in August 2017 to bring the facilities up to the quality of accommodation expected. The home consists of seven en-suite bedrooms with communal areas for eating, relaxing, watching TV and exercising. There is an independent flat for a student identified as being ready to work towards independent living. One of the bedrooms is also specifically designed as an Anti-Ligature room.
Our specialist staff team
The home is staffed 24 hours a day, all year round. Places within the home can be purchased on a 38 or 52 week basis and include placement within Kingsbrook School.
From point of referral we work in partnership with families, carers, commissioners, stakeholders and the young person themselves to identify the most suitable residential care placement that will fully meet their needs.
Our staff are intensively trained, highly motivated and intent on achieving the best possible outcomes for the young people in their care. We recruit and develop only those talented individuals who share our values and ambition for the service that we operate. In turn, we ensure that they are led by Managers whose focus is on the welfare of the young people, the development of their workforce and the continual improvement of their home.
We are proud of our exceptionally high quality, family-like accommodation which has been designed around the sometimes complex needs of the individuals that we support. The home is well maintained and resourced, offering home away from home care, in an environment that will support and encourage young people’s development.
The young people will live in a culture that encourages active participation in the decision making process that impacts on their lives. We consult with our residents on a regular basis and their feedback is used to empower our service.
We work in close partnership with parents and carers to utilise their unique and valuable insight into the needs of their child. We value everyone’s opinion and keep parents/carers informed about their child’s progress at all times.
