Work experience opportunities are available from day one for all our young people to apply for within the school to help develop their life skills. We also pay the individual for working to help them learn budgeting and managing their personal finance. Jobs at the school include:
- Kitchen assistant
- Librarian
- Recycling monitors
We have strong partnerships in place with charities and businesses in the local community. From Year 9 upwards, the young people have the opportunity to gain work experience, may include working at:
- Charity shops
- Elderly residential homes
- Gardening services
- Catering establishments
- Business and commercial removal and storage
- Leisure centres
- IT companies
We provide individual packages appropriate to the young person in post-16, working closely with employers, for example one young man has a passion for construction and is currently bricklaying.
