Rossendale School

Rossendale School provides a first class education for up to 70 young people aged between 8 and 18 years old who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties who will also be diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and possibly a variety of other comorbid syndromes. All our pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan.

The school is also able to offer residential support for up to 12 young people, which has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the past ten years. Our two homes can accommodate both boys and girls on weekly boarding placements, as well as respite care for existing pupils.

We are committed to helping each of our students prepare for adulthood, never losing focus on what they are capable of achieving. We work closely with our young people and their families to support them to reach their potential through academic progress and the development of social skills.

Located in Rossendale, Lancashire, Rossendale School accepts pupils from across the North West and incorporates the main school site, a community-based sixth form and two associated residential homes, around four miles away from the main school site.
