Fees and funding
Typically, local authority education departments will be responsible for referring young people to Rossendale School and pay their school fees. In addition, local authority social services departments and NHS Trusts may refer or work cooperatively with the education department in joint funding. Having said that, parents and carers have a right to be involved at all stages of the process.
Rossendale School has a transparent pricing structure. Our fees are matched to the individual’s needs and we review these annually and adjust them according to any changes.
Should a young person make substantial progress and therefore require less support then in consultation with the family and the Local Authority (as this may require a statutory change to an EHCP) should this be agreed, then fee reductions can occur.

The majority of the school day is spent in formal classroom lessons. Based on the pattern found in most mainstream schools, pupils at Rossendale School are taught in one hour periods during the morning and 50 minute sessions in the afternoon.
