The therapy offered at Sedgemoor Manor School plays a vital role in helping our young people to reach their full potential by helping to breakdown any barriers they have to learning. The school has dedicated therapy rooms where our in-house therapy team offer a range of support. This includes:
Speech and language therapy
This therapy focuses on developing social communication skills, through both group and direct 1:1 work.
Occupational therapy
We use occupational therapy to manage sensory issues, such as providing support with writing and gross motor skills.
Thrive Practitioners
We are embedding Thrive across the school and have a number of staff trained as practitioners to support students and complete Thrive baseline assessment of needs. We have a family Thrive practitioner who supports parents and family members with having a deeper understanding of needs and strategies to support our young people.
Vulnerable Learners Team
Our team of learning support assistants can provide additional individual support to students where required.
