MP Robert Buckland, has praised the work of staff at Priory Group’s Farleigh Further Education College, following a visit to the site in his South Swindon constituency.
Celebrating ten years of supporting young people in the community, the college provides specialist education and support services for students with social and communication difficulties and complex diagnoses such as autism and Asperger Syndrome
Commenting on his time at the site, which will shortly be renamed as Priory College Swindon, Mr Buckland said:
"I was delighted to be able to visit Farleigh today and see firsthand the college’s valuable work for people in the local community. I would like to thank staff and students alike for their warm welcome."
Over the last ten years the college has supported and helped over 200, often vulnerable, young people make the transition into employment and further education. Working in close partnership with the local community, students receive tailored support to help their personal development and are encouraged to be more independent, vital for their long-term futures.
Martin Bentham, Farleigh’s Principal, added:
"Achieving excellent outcomes for students is our primary aim and we are very proud that Ofsted have endorsed the quality of the college in recent inspection visits. We were very pleased to have Robert on site today and showcase the great work done to support students in all that they do."
