We are a unique school for unique young people. The work of our staff and students is guided by a simple ethos:
We recognise that each young person is an individual and provide an environment that is sensitive to the needs of all of our students.
We aim to:
- Empower young people and build resilience enabling all of our students to engage in learning.
- Ensure that all young people have their right to an education preserved whilst they are in hospital.
- Secure a successful reintegration or transition upon discharge.
The Priory Woodbourne Hospital School is a day-school which serves the Tier 4 Adolescent in-patient CAMHS unit at the Woodbourne Priory Hospital. All young people admitted to hospital are automatically admitted to the school once they are deemed well enough to participate in the induction process. Our School aims to provide a positive and inclusive experience of education for all of our young people; to raise self-esteem; increase confidence and resilience and to facilitate progression and achievement. The School also aims to ensure that, through provision of a positive learning experience, students are successfully reintegrated back into their existing placement or make the transition to alternative or further education.
