At Troup House School we are well resourced and have a unique purpose built learning environment with 9 classrooms and a range of outhouses that are well-equipped and furnished to a high standard. Our facilities include:
- Food & Nutrition classroom
- Health & Wellbeing classroom
- Craft & Design Technology workshop
- General classroom environments
- Playing fields with goals
- Ropes courses
- Mountain bike track
- Vegetable plots
Young people can also do rural studies onsite including working in the green house, the vegetable plot and even help with building a new pond. Within the grounds, the young people can use the ropes course and go mountain biking on our purpose built mountain bike trail park. Outdoor education is a big part of the curriculum we regularly play a range of outdoor field sports including:
- Fat Ball (which is unique to Troup House School)
This year we have plans to add to our facilities by building our very own outdoor gym in the grounds using trees felled on our site. At Troup House, we encourage our young people to be part of the community; therefore we also access local resources including the leisure centre to swim, play badminton, squash and basketball. Our extensive Outdoor Education Programme is seasonal and includes skiing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, camping, coast steering and wild cooking.
We also have a full calendar of school events to ensure that our young people are included in significant celebrations, community events and whole school experiences. We are committed to developing our school community and providing the enriching and compensatory experiences for our young people that many of them have previously been excluded from.
