Work experience opportunities

Employability is a big focus at Talocher School. We aim to help all of our young people be well-prepared for the world of work and to put them in the best possible position to secure the job they want, in the industry they want.

As a school, we have a well-established work experience programme in place and have built a number of links with local businesses over the years. As such, we are able to organise placements for our students in a variety of fields, helping them to develop workplace skills and gain an insight into the world of work.

Young people at Talocher School have the opportunity to undertake a work experience placement which is specially designed around their needs and interests. Our students have previously undertaken work in a variety of industries, including:

• Child Care – nursery
• Balfour Beatty
• Construction
• Agriculture
• Coffee shops
• Mechanics
