Student Council Achievements
Over the last few years the Student Council at Sketchley School have:
- Organised children in need days with a wide variety of activities, from pin the tail on the donkey, to waxing staff members legs
- Helped to decide what equipment would be put on the back playground area, and developed the rules of use for it
- Suggested new places for the school to visit for educational trips
- The punching bag in the gym was a Student Council request/idea that was actioned
- Had a say in the use of different rooms across all sites, for example the music therapy room at Progression House
- Requested that the schools have gaming consoles, which was also actioned
- Developed a random acts of kindness reward scheme that led to a cinema reward day
- Organised Christmas cake sales
- Developed stalls and stand to celebrate Sketchley being open for 10 years
- Requested certain dinners to be added to the lunch menu, including banoffee pie!
- Helped to develop the anti-bullying systems that currently run in the school
- Chosen items that are currently in chill zones at Sketchley and Forest
- Developed a ‘Houses’ system at Forest House
- Organised Halloween cake days and events over the years
- Helped to decide what the end of year reward trips should be for students
