Our Staff Team

Every class has a qualified specialist Teacher, supported by a highly skilled and experienced team of higher level qualified Teaching Assistants. It is very important to us that pupils work with a consistent team, taking a consistent approach and for this reason, we do not use agency staff or Supply Teachers. Our committed, creative staff build trusting and caring relationships with young people and establish a positive and supportive learning environment, tailored to their individual needs. Every day they model the behaviour we are looking for our young people to develop themselves.

Our in-house expert Therapy Team is led by a Clinical Psychologist and includes two Speech and Language Therapists, two Occupational Therapists, two Counsellors and an Art, Play and Music Therapist. All teaching staff have been trained to integrate therapy into daily lessons and work closely with our Therapy Team who plan and oversee this.

The professional development of our staff is promoted by access to the comprehensive and continually updated training programme we access as part of Priory Education and Children’s Services, one of the UK’s leading specialist education providers.

Staff work in partnership with parents, providing daily updates on progress and regularly consulting on next steps. All have an understanding of the impact that having a child with autism can have on families. There is an open door culture, which promotes open communication with families and facilitates easy access to all staff, including the Head Teacher.
