Please find below more information on our admissions criteria at Queenswood School.

Admissions criteria

  • Queenswood School supports young people aged 11-19 years with complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and an autistic spectrum condition (ASC)
  • Usually they have an education, health and care plan and/or a statement of educational needs
  • Some may be children in care (CiC) of local authorities
  • Pupils may also have other special educational needs

Some of the young people may also have other associated difficulties or disorders. These include:

  • Complex and behaviours that may challenge

  • Attention deficit disorder (ADD) or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • Moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and specific learning difficulties (SpLD)

  • Attachment disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA) and an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)

Queenswood School is excited to announce that we have been working alongside our local authorities to set up a specialist provision for three pupils with a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The Yarkhill centre will open in September 2020 and we look forward to offering specialist learning and support to a new cohort of pupils.
