Oliver House School is a highly specialist school for children with autism, aged six to 19 years old. It is specially designed to support young people with high-functioning autism, as well as those with complex autism with significant learning difficulties. The school also has four associated children’s homes, offering 52 week residential care.
All students admitted have a Statement of Special Educational Needs and will have experienced difficulties within mainstream and local authority special schools. Many will have been excluded from previous schools or had problems at home because of their complex and challenging needs and behaviours.
Located in Astley Village, Chorley, Oliver House School enjoys a peaceful setting next to the beautiful Astley Park which includes a Pets Corner, lake, walled gardens and historic woodland as well as a café. Excellent transport links and easy access to the M6, M61 and M65 motorways means the school is well-connected to a number of nearby towns and cities including Southport, Preston and Manchester.
