Mark College is well-suited to supporting students with the potential to perform well academically but who struggle in a mainstream setting. One of our key strengths is that we are able to offer pupils the chance to study for up to ten GCSEs in a wide range of subjects, whilst also providing the therapeutic support they require. We also offer additional learning support, and more vocational based courses such as the ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness, a more accessible subject that is portfolio based, taking the pressure off students having to take exams.
A bespoke approach
The school takes a highly individualised approach to each student’s education, creating a bespoke learning package for every young person at Mark College. This approach is even more evident for our sixth form pupils who are able to study on-site courses, as well as to tap into our local FE colleges and the courses that they offer.
Examination access arrangements
A high percentage of our students at Mark College require additional access arrangements for examinations, such as a scribe, reader or working in an individual room. We are experienced in organising any assistance required and utilise Assistive Technology to create a stress free examination environment that will give our students the best chance of success.
