Welcome to Three Oaks

Three Oaks is a newly refurbished children’s home in Cornwall for three young people aged 7-17 years. It provides specialist care for young people with autism and associated conditions through a Positive Behaviour Support framework.

The children’s home provides a safe and nurturing environment within a large village, where there is access to local amenities.

Supporting the needs of the young people

The staff team at Three Oaks supports the children and young people to develop feelings of self-worth by listening to them and responding to their views and feelings. There is a focus on emphasising each young person’s strengths and encouraging them to always strive for the best wherever possible.

The overriding philosophy of Three Oaks is to offer a child-centred approach which enables the children and young people to grow physically, emotionally and spiritually. The staff team are also positive role models who protect, guide and help them plan for their futures.

The facilities available

Three Oaks has recently been redecorated to a high standard and is set up to resemble a typical family home.

The property is on two levels, with the upstairs featuring two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and lounge with a TV and games console. Downstairs there are a further two bedrooms and a separate utility room. The children and young people can also relax and play in the additional communal lounge, which has a television and DVD player, as well as in the large, safe outdoor space.

All of the children and young people at Three Oaks have their own bedroom which they are encouraged to decorate and personalise to reflect their individual personalities and tastes.

Three Oaks provides a wide range of activities on-site and also benefits from having local community facilities nearby, offering activities for children and young people to enjoy. They are encouraged to try and pursue activities that met their individual needs and preferences. These include:
